"He wants it. Because he's a romantic like you. I try to be more realistic than that. He's going to be on stage or something. He's gonna be famous. He needs to be with someone that matches that. Someone more his type." He frowned for a moment. "Someone with a weird name, apparently, going by his other choices."
That was honestly the most unifying feature there. "Anyway. Don't talk nonsense, man. When you have your dance, you let me know. I'll be there. I'll chaperone. You can dance with whoever. Ain't nothing gonna happen. Not ever again."
"Realistic is always just code for boring. Maybe you should try being impractical and just falling in love all over again. Then again, I'm a romantic and I'm in a loony bin so I'm not sure I'm your best source of advise." Blaine admitted with a shrug, looking down at his slippers as he wondered if Joaquin meant it. If he'd actually come and protect him. If he'd make sure he was safe.
"It'll happen again, bad things happen. It's not the end of the world." That's what his dad always said. No point being melodramatic. "But thanks, man. I would say I have your back too but I'm not sure how. Maybe if my boxing improves."
"You just focus your energy on getting with that Kurt kid. He's cute." Joaquin was teasing a little, putting a hand on Blaine's shoulder and leading him toward the door. Time to get this patient to bed before someone caught them and they'd both be in trouble. "I'll be sure to give me update on my romantic life. I've got a date with him on Friday because I can't say no to him, so there's that. No idea how to dress for that."
"Maybe I can dress you, I have ideas." Blaine helpfully informed Joaquin as they walked towards the hallway again. He really didn't want to go to his room but he knew he'd push his luck if he tried to stall out more. Besides, he didn't want to upset Joaquin. "See how you feel Friday but if you're still stumped, leather jacket will always win out. He probably likes a bad boy."
And he already had outfit ideas. "We'll update each other on our, uh, you know, cute boy missions."
"And I better hear about how well you are applying yourself in... whatever the hell he's gonna do with you." Joaquin stopped by Blaine's door, opening it for him. "You'll meet him. He will like you. You and Kurt. I gave him a heads up." Kevin approved of the gay teens. Of course he did. "So sing your heart out. Get some sleep and you'll be better tomorrow."
