"Of course I'm coming with you. I'm only in Lima because I want to be with you." No need for false pretences here. Kurt wasn't sure whether Dallen was about to follow or not, so in order to distract Blaine, he pulled him into a kiss while holding on to his hand. He kissed his cheeks next, then his forehead, finally looking into his eyes. "I'm never letting go of you. Not ever again."
"Sam told us the address, so he knows about this going down. He wanted to come but I figured I'd get distracted by his good looks," Edward said, babbling mostly to try and calm himself down after all the adrenaline.
"Sam shouldn't have to deal with this." Blaine agreed as he just melt into Kurt's attention and affection. Were they back together? Was this it now? If it was, he didn't feel like it mattered much. Who needed big statements, he just needed Kurt. "I'm sorry you did. I tried, I really did but he was so angry. He-- I couldn't get my phone back."
They left without it but it was what it was. He'd rather abandon the phone than let Edward get hurt. "I'll need a new one."
"Eh, phones are as cheap as onions these days. We'll get you on." Jon dismissed with a wave of his hand. "And we'll probably get it back. You recorded, right?" He looked at Edward and then frowned. "Hmm. Should I drive?"
"I can drive my own car, Jon," Edward muttered, aware that he sounded petulant and angry. Well, he was. He shouldn't have abandoned the phone, he realised that. On the other hand, he still had his own phone and he had recorded all of it. "I've got it all, image and sound. He'll give you your phone if he wants to avoid a bad outcome of the lawsuit."
And he was going to sue him. It wasn't nearly as satisfying as punching him, but at least it was something.
Kurt looked from Jonathan to Edward, a bit unsure of the situation. However, he mostly just focused on Blaine, trying to get his mind off of all the awfulness. "I can get you a new phone. They have those rose-gold ones covered in Swarovski crystals, that would suit you so well, baby." He was trying to keep his tone light, smiling at Blaine. "You'll reclaim your life in style. I'll help."
"Sounds expensive, come on, I don't need all of that. But we could go look together. I mean, it's not the end of the world, the screen was broken on it anyway. Dallen sort of threw it so..." So it wasn't the best. He would like his photos and whatsapp account back but otherwise, he would need a new one no matter what. He gripped Kurt's hand tight and smiled at him. "I'm sorry. I wanted to text."
"We'll call Harvey tonight, Ed." Jon assured him as he kept an eye on Ed. Someone had to, he was more sensitive and fragile to these things than he showed. "Did you eat today, Blaine?"
"I have chicken and rice for lunch. I didn't have dinner yet."
"It's all right, I don't blame you for that. Though chicken and rice, really? From the master of creamy pasta sauces right here." Kurt teased him gently, shaking his head. "We can order from Breadstix. They do delivery and I know you love their food."
It was a home comfort, in a way. And they did do salads too, so why not?
"I already sent the videos to Harvey," Ed told Jonathan, then he realised that Jon had a hand on his thigh and he was about to ask him why the hell when he noticed just how fast he was going. Ah. All right. He brought them down to a sensible speed, kind of, and hoped they'd still get there before he exploded or imploded or something.
"That sounds really good. I've been on a diet for like two months and it sucks. I haven't eaten anything sweet but apple slices for like the entirety of this month." And they all knew how much Blaine loved himself an unhealthy sweet treat. He had learned to moderate after some unfortunate weight gain issues but even so, nothing could stop him. "I want chicken Alfredo and a cookie."
"We'll order, almost there. Making it in record time." Jon was certain of that, given they had just been doing 80 in a 30 zone. They pulled around the corner and Jon looked out of the window. "We're looking for number 103, boys. Should be a blue house."
"Wow. It's like a concrete doily," Kurt commented when the car came to a stop, reaching for Blaine's hand. He threaded their fingers together and decided that he was going to order him a chocolate lava cake and he was going to share it with him while making sure Blaine didn't hold back. He deserved all the treats he could get.
They got out of the car with Edward and Jon ahead of them, Edward whispering to Jon way too quiet and fast to be audible and Jon just nodding along. Then finally they were inside the house, just as Kurt dialled the number for Breadstix. He made an order for them all and Edward came over to Blaine, pulling him into a hug again.
"I'm sorry I was late, bro. But I got you." He kissed the top of Blaine's head. "Now, if you're gonna be having sex in that room over there, make sure to hang a sock on the doorhandle."
Blaine wrapped his arms around Edward, feeling his anxiety just coming off him in waves. He wasn't a good brother, to put Ed through all of this. "I'm so sorry. I didn't know what to do. It got worse before I even realised and he checked my phone all the time, I couldn't reach out. I'm glad Kurt did."
At the sock, he blushed and then slapped his brother in annoyance. "That's not gonna happen. You're so silly sometimes." He smiled a little, hating that when he smiled, it hurt. His face was so sore.
While the brothers had their tender moment, Jonathan had taken the phone from Kurt and was still ordering. "So you don't make fried eggs... can you just give me a carton of eggs then? ... Yes, I can pay for that. Of course that isn't all, I've barely started. So the chicken - how many of those can you send in delivery? Uh-huh. Yeah. And it's fried, right? Oh. Okay, good. I'll take like 5."
"...how many people is Jonathan feeding," Kurt asked Blaine, uncertain. He was still holding his hand. Edward laughed, shrugging.
"He's a black hole." He took a few steps to the freezer, checked it for a cool pack and then wrapped that in a dish towel, so he could hand it to Blaine. Grandma was prepared, apparently. "Go cuddle in bed, yeah? I'll call you when the food is here."
"Might need more than one delivery truck," Kurt pointed out as he led Blaine into the room Edward had pointed out. The idea of being alone and just holding each other was very appealing right now.
