"Well, it'd have to be someone who liked musicals and really wanted to see this particular one. And it'd be someone who really wants to spend time with you and just get to you know... maybe hold your hand a little." Blaine suggested with an awkward little smile, hoping he was seeming charming and not creepy like the girls said.
"Someone who has zero weekend plans and has absent parents." Blaine suggested, wondering if Kurt could come to his house. Wondering if Kurt should come to his house. He'd have to hide a lot of dorky stuff. And also hope that Kurt didn't just rob him or bring his friends. "And, you know, it's pretty private. As far as hangs go."
"That would be quite the fortunate combination of circumstances." Kurt looked at Blaine and wondered just what he would do if he was alone with him like that. Watching Rocky Horror. Kissing him again. On a bed this time.
Talk about wanting to be dirty. His lips quirked, yet he couldn't entirely forget about reality here. "I don't have a car. Would be hard to get anywhere to hang out with someone like that."
"I have a car. Well, no, I don't have a car but I have my mom's car." Which he was only allowed to use for emergencies but even so, he had it and this felt like an emergency. "And there is a bus but it's a long ride and it's not very fun, there's so many potholes so the car would be nicer cause I know when to swerve and somehow, the bus drivers don't."
He was getting nervous now, afraid of rejection and embarrassment so he rambled as his face started to get a little red. Was Kurt politely saying no and he was making an ass of himself. "Not that you have to, I'm sure you have plans and places to smoke and stuff but like... I do have a car."
"Don't you go being cute again. It makes me feel like more of an asshole than I am." It also made it about a hundred times harder to turn him down. What was the harm in hanging out with him on the weekend? If no one knew, then nothing bad could happen to Blaine because of it.
Right?
"Give me your number." Kurt gave in, reaching for his phone. "I can meet you somewhere if you have the car."
"Really? Wow. Really?" It seemed so unlikely. He fumbled to get his phone out, almost dropping it in his excitement. He opened it up on his number and then showed it to Kurt. "That's me. It's an easy number to remember, two meanings of life, 42, and then it ends with 2187. That's the cell Leia was kept in. From Star Wars."
He felt it was pretty neat and even Sam could remember it! Though he was now realising that perhaps he and Kurt may have had different reference points.
"Oh wow. You are a nerd." As if that was news. "Ew. I don't want your number after all." Kurt said it drily while he finished saving the number, immediately dialling it so that Blaine could save his number as well. He looked at him then, beyond endeared.
"Don't look so pouty and weird, baby boy. I was joking." Obviously, given he very much had saved the number. He put his phone away and thought of the only Star Wars quote he could remember off the top of his head, reciting it while looking at Blaine. "Help me, Obi-Wan. You are my only hope."
Oh no, he over-dorked and blew it. He was an idiot. Numbers and sci-fi?! Why? Why did he do that? He was going to die alone, he was such a -- oh, it was a joke. Oh. He frowned and then looked away, trying to stop pouting. Was he pouting? He hadn't realised. "I'm not pouty and weird." So there.
He looked down at his phone now, saving Kurt's name into his phone. He was going to try and not send him any dorky memes. Not until they were closer and he wouldn't be blocked. For now, he basked in the reference and smiled at Kurt. "I promise if you come over, I won't make you watch any sci-fi." He laughed a little, looking at his phone again. "I like when you kinda smile at me. It makes my heart race."
"I'd rather watch sci-fi than football." If he had to choose between the two. Not that either was a favoured genre. "Actually, Rocky Horror is kind of sci-fi."
Maybe he was fine with any genre as long as it was a musical. Just as he almost felt as if he would have agreed to a Star Wars marathon if Blaine had suggested it.
"Yeah?" Blaine's sheepish admission made him smile now. Perhaps even a proper smile instead of simply a kinda smile. But then he noticed Finn's tall figure emerge from the school and the smile wiped right off. "My ride's here."
"Then I'll slink away before we get exposed. Text me. I'll be waiting, it'll be very sad and pathetic if you don't." Blaine teased as he moved away from Kurt and turned in the other direction, walking towards the bus stop with his hands on his satchel. He did look over to Kurt's ride, wondering why Kurt lost all of his happiness around these people.
