"If it means you can keep fondling me then yes, I am your canvas." Blaine offered as he fumbled around with the towel in his hands and finally, he just dropped it onto his bag. "But thanks. It's cool. My mom would like you a lot. Maybe you can meet her some time. Not in like a super forward relationship way! Just, like, you know. My mom likes to know I have friends."
And the only friend she knew was Sam. And that was always weird. "She may hit on you. She does that. I'm hoping for a divorce for my parents soon - is that a weird thing to root for?"
"You're asking the wrong person, Blaine. I set up my dad and Carole, Finn's mom, just because they seemed to hit it off at parent teacher night and then I organised their wedding. And I was nine or so." Ah, it had been a different time. He had been different.
Though right now he felt a giddiness as he used the hair wax to gently coax Blaine's curls into looking purposeful, although he was digging the messy look quite a bit too. "We're not friends."
At first, Blaine felt his stomach sink and the idea of them not being friends was scary, it was like when Kurt froze him out in public only 1000% worse because they were alone and it was happening! And then Kurt looked into his eyes and it was like a surge of something new and powerful. He looked at him, his heart racing, as he let those words sink in.
"I am yours." Blaine agreed eagerly. "I want to always be yours."
And he knew, they were young and there were a lot of years ahead but to Blaine, he couldn't imagine ever feeling this way again for anyone else. "I hope you're mine too."
"I'm yours," Kurt confirmed, trying to act as if his hands weren't trembling a little under the weight of what they were saying to each other. He kept working on his hair for a few seconds longer, then pulled his hands back and nodded his approval. "You're ready now. Damn. You've got Danny Zuko vibes and I mean that in the best of ways. Freddie Mercury, I think he had hair a bit like you. Basically, you're the perfect leading man."
Blaine kissed Kurt suddenly, just to show his approval. He hadn't seen it yet but he trusted Kurt so much that he just decided to let fate lead him. As he pulled away, he raised his hands and touched the lightly waxed hair. It was so curly and springy, he wasn't sure how he felt but Kurt was looking at him like that.
"Wanna meet up this weekend and make out? I'll keep my hair like this if you do." He drove a hard bargain.
Kurt nodded his head, feeling a bit like skipping and a lot like singing. Instead he cleared his throat and tried to think of something less embarrassing and romcom. "I get my car back this weekend."
At least he had some hopes that he could make his father return it. "We could go on a drive. Just. Maybe even go somewhere. Overnight."
"I would definitely be free all weekend so, you know, we could go somewhere. Just us. Overnight." Were they going to have sex? Oh God, he needed to do way more research and maybe watch better quality gay porn. He was nervous but excited and honestly, he didn't care what he was doing. He just wanted to be doing it with Kurt.
"You can leave the closet first, by the way. And text me! We can just like, you know, plan the weekend." It was scary but exciting.
"Yeah. Just. Wait a second." Kurt got his phone out and he knew it was dark, so he made sure flash was on when he turned it so he could take a picture of them together. Together in the dim closet, with Blaine's fabulous curls and very strange light exposure because of the light. Still, it was their first selfie together. "I'll send that to you."
That said he kissed Blaine's cheek and then took a deep breath as he opened the door.
